A Personal Journey to Health and Wellness

First and foremost, I am a person with a history of childhood obesity. Like many of you, I struggled throughout my childhood, battling food noise and weight bias. I know what it feels like to have healthcare professionals and loved ones encourage me to “just eat less and move more,” only to experience frustration and setbacks. I understand the challenges of hitting weight loss plateaus and regaining lost weight despite my efforts.

When I say that I believe you are trying, it is because I, too, fight this battle every single day to maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep my obesity in remission. In 2019, I eagerly pursued advanced education in both adult and pediatric obesity medicine, earning multiple certifications. Now, with both my professional training and personal experience, I can help unlock the tools to success that you already possess while providing new strategies to support your journey.

More Than a Practitioner: A Woman, Wife, and Mother

Beyond my professional expertise, I am also a woman, a daughter, a wife, and a mother. My personal journey has included a long battle with unexplained infertility, shaping my perspective on health and wellness. I have experienced the frustration, shame, and guilt of living in a body that felt broken.

In my primary care clinic, I repeatedly saw aspects of my own story reflected in midlife female patients who were struggling with new and seemingly unrelated health concerns. This inspired me to pursue advanced education in functional nutrition, functional hormone therapy, and midlife health. I have since become a certified practitioner in menopause care and functional nutrition, allowing me to bridge the gap in knowledge and offer comprehensive support for optimizing health and hormones at midlife, particularly in metabolic health and weight management.

A Dedicated Career in Medicine

I have spent nearly 15 years proudly serving our community as a medical professional. My career began in primary care and family medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Southern NH. Then, I transitioned to the Haverhill, Massachusetts location of Mass General Brigham (formerly Pentucket Medical Associates), where I practiced primary care and internal medicine for over 10 years.

Seeking to expand my expertise, I transitioned into a primary care and specialty metabolic health clinic (Knownwell), allowing me to broaden my scope to include pediatric obesity care. I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most influential medical experts in the field. Now, my vision is to bring my expertise to you and build a local community of wellness.

We are fortunate to have outstanding allied health professionals right here in our area, many of whom I have collaborated with throughout my career. If specialized care is needed, I will use my professional relationships to advocate for you and your family, whether through local experts or larger academic medical centers within the Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Lahey Health networks.

Rooted in Our Community

I love our community and am raising my children in the same town where both my husband and I grew up. In my spare time, you can often find me:

  • Playing with my children at local playgrounds or cheering them on at their sports games
  • Walking our goldendoodle, Charlie
  • Participating in local group fitness classes (Zumba is a favorite!)
  • Spending time with family and friends in the lakes region of Maine

My family and I are a part of this community—sharing the same schools, parks, and grocery stores. I am with you, walking this journey every day. Let’s do this together, for ourselves and our families!
